Borealis Bigshot Mackenzie, better known as Mackenzie Boxer, Boxer, Boxie, and Bigshot, passed from this earth on May 5, 2023, with her loving family at her side.
Mackenzie was born August 17, 2008, in Anchorage, Alaska. Two months later, she joined her forever family. Together, they shared many adventures, camping and hiking all over Alaska and the Yukon. In 2015, they traveled the Alaska Highway to their new home near Sunset Beach on the Oregon Coast, where they made many more happy memories hiking and camping in the Pacific Northwest.
In her younger years, Mackenzie loved racing along the beach, playing keep-away with her ball, and sparring with her dog friends. She enjoyed lying outside on warm days, soaking up sunshine. On clear nights, she liked to lie outside with her family as the sun set and the stars came out. She always wanted to snuggle as close as she could to her loved ones.
Mackenzie was a happy, spirited, sweet dog. She was so gentle with her stuffed toys that she still had the first one given to her when she was eight weeks old. She never met a child she didn’t like, and she touched hearts wherever she went. All she ever wanted was to be with her people. In their hearts, she always will be.
Her family thanks everyone who made her life joyful. A special thanks to those who helped her make the most of her last months, including the staff at Healing Arts Animal Care, Bayshore Animal Hospital, and Harmony Frazier of Harmony Animal Therapies.
We miss you with all our hearts, Mackenzie Boxer. Run with the wind. Your spirit is free.
