Garfield Schmidt

Molly and Meredith Schmidt announce the passing of their beloved senior golden retriever, Garfield, who passed away on March 21, 2023, at the age of 13. Garfield was a faithful companion and service dog who touched the lives of everyone he met.

Garfield began his life as a service dog, trained to assist individuals with disabilities in their daily lives. He was a loyal and hardworking partner, always eager to lend a helping paw. Garfield's gentle nature and kind heart made him an ideal candidate for the job, and he served with distinction for many years.

Sadly, Garfield's service came to an abrupt end when he experienced a scare that forced him into early retirement. Despite this setback, Garfield remained a devoted and loving companion to his family, always ready with a wagging tail and a warm greeting.

In his later years, Garfield slowed down a bit, but he still loved nothing more than a good belly rub or a long walk in the park. He remained an important member of our family, bringing us joy and comfort with his unwavering loyalty and companionship.

Garfield's passing leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled. His legacy as a service dog and faithful friend will live on in our memories and the lives he touched. Rest in peace, dear Max. You will be forever missed and always remembered.
