Ursula "LaLa" the Sea Bitch, age unknown, passed away peacefully on May 16th, 2023, laying on her bed, listening to the waves lapping the shore alongside the Seaview Beach Approach. She was pet and comforted by the love of her guardian, Adrienne, who is forever grateful to have had the honor of LaLa's presence for the past two years.
LaLa was a woman of mystery, picked up on the streets of North Carolina as a senior, her origins unknown. Saved from an untimely demise, the first rescue named her Ursula, presumably for her resemblance to the infamous sea witch of the Little Mermaid. Stopping by Seaside, OR, for a beach run on the way to her new home one year later, her boisterous enjoyment of beach walkies had her cheekily deemed the Sea Bitch. Her goofy ways and sunny disposition later earned her the nickname LaLa.
Known to her friends and family as a lover of long leisurely walks, bully sticks, and the free seafood buffet on the beach, LaLa enjoyed her simple but full sunset years. She was a loyal companion to her guardian, Adrienne, and always knew just when a cuddle, wag, or walk was needed. Her goofball excitement and silly antics provided a laugh when nothing else would.
LaLa was more than just a dog; she was a cherished member of the family, an unwavering source of comfort, and a true friend. Despite early struggles to learn that her new life was safe, she settled into a retirement full of love, loyalty, and laughter.
LaLa's life came to a gentle close after a sudden and severe heart condition emerged that left her unable to enjoy the things she loved most about being alive; she is now at peace and free from pain. Special thank you to Dr. Kelly Spall for a loving goodbye, on a heartbreakingly sunny afternoon.
